Garden Design

Today’s photos are from Emily Berger.

I wanted to share some photos of my Detroit home garden. I’m a professional photographer, so I happen to have some photos of the garden at one of its peaks this summer.

path to front door lined with plantsI love the lavender plants (Lavandula × intermedia, Zones 5–9) along this front walk and can imagine them releasing their fragrance as you walk past.

planter pots on front stepPlanters at the door: nasturtiums (Tropaeolum majus, annual) up top, and an urn of white bacopa (Sutera cordata, annual) contrasting with dark sweet potato vine (Ipomoea batatas, Zones 10–11 or as an annual) on the step.

White yarrow with front porch behindWhite yarrow (Achillea millefolium, Zones 3–9) is in peak bloom.
