1.Sansevieria“Mother in law’s Tongue” as it’s commonly referred to in a lighter vein, makes for an ideal indoor plant for several reasons. It’s ornamental value adds a dash of beauty to your house. Snake plant requires minimal care and to top it all, has superior air purification qualities. It removes four out of five toxins and is counted among one of the few plants that also remove carbon dioxide at night. 

2.Lucky bamboo plant 

Lucky Bamboo requires a moderate level of care. One of the critical things you would need to bear in mind, is that Lucky bamboo plants need to be placed clean water all the time. Since the plant is susceptible to chemicals ; any traces of chlorine or fluoride in the water will end up affecting the leaves and turning them yellow or brown.

3.Chinese Evergreen-Aglaonema

The only demand the plant makes from you is to protect it from extreme cold and excessive sunlight since it can tolerate neither. Also prune any inflorescence immediately to prolong the life of the plant and keep a watch out for pests as well.

Light: Low to medium light.
Soil: Needs to be evenly moist. Add only a small amount of fertilizer as the plants are easily injured when over supplemented.
Water: Since Chinese Evergreens need the soil to be evenly moist, you could opt for moderate watering. Allow the soil to dry out a bit in between the intervals

Water: It all depends on where you live. If you live in hot and dry climates, make sure to mist the plant everyday and water every couple of days.

The leaves of spider plants are long and slender, escorted with white and green stripings. They grow in a dense cluster, arching downward. This plant also improves indoor air quality by eliminating xylene and formaldehyde from the surrounding.

6.Lucky Bamboo
Botanical name: Dracaena sanderiana

Symbol of good fortune and prosperity, lucky bamboo has slender stalks that resemble the real bamboo tree. Often grown in soil for longevity, but many gardeners grow them in a glass vase filled with water and pebbles for a  decorative accent. This plant grows best in bright light but can tolerate some low lights as well.

7.Areca Palm

Botanical name: Dypsis lutescens

The arching fronds of Areca palm with a multitude of narrow, green leaflets can brighten up any corner of your house. Due to the arching habit of its fronds, it resembles the wings of a butterfly, hence earned a butterfly palm name. Its key feature of absorbing formaldehyde, toluene, and xylene from the surrounding helps in filtering the VOCs from the air.

Considered to bring good fortune to its owner, pothos is one of the ‘hard to kill’ houseplant that remains green even in dark places. Thanks to its creeping nature, you can grow it on the hanging baskets to trail down or train on a trellis as a vine. Its green leaves are heart-shaped and tinged with cream-yellow splashes. This plant absorbs xylene, toluene, and benzene compound and naturally filters the air.

9.SNAKE PLANT
One of the most tolerant plants, the snake plant can be neglected for weeks together and still look fresh. Additionally, they can survive low light levels, drought and has almost no insect problems. It’s an ideal plant to have staged in your window to help block out the excessive sun from a room.
